This Sustainable Travel Management Plan has been produced for employees and visitors travelling to The Spirella Buildings. It provides information on the different methods of travel available to Spirella 1 and 2. Its aim is to encourage employees and visitors to choose active modes of travel, adopt sustainable travel behaviours and in turn reduce traffic congestion and pollution.
Willmott Dixon occupies two separate buildings in Letchworth – the distinctive Spirella building which fronts onto Bridge Road and Spirella 2, which sits behind the first building, across the car park. These buildings can be found in the centre of Letchworth Garden City, North Hertfordshire and they benefit from excellent road and public transport links to central London and Cambridge.
The offices also benefit from video and teleconferencing facilities which help reduce unnecessary journeys to our site.
As a carbon neutral business, we are committed to reducing our carbon emissions throughout the business by reducing car journeys and promoting more sustainable forms of travel.
This Sustainable Travel plan forms an important component of this commitment as it outlines a framework for an on-going programme that encourages the uptake of public transport, cycling and walking.
This travel plan outlines all the travel options available to those travelling to and from Spirella 1 and 2, so that employees and visitors have the information they need to make sustainable travel choices.
Pedestrians can access the western wing of the building from Bridge Road.
Wheelchair access can be found through the main entrance on Icknield Way.
All vehicles can access the site through the main entrance on Icknield Way. There are automatic barriers that rise to give access to both staff & visitors on approach.
There is car parking available on site for staff and visitors.
Space availability is subject to restrictions during events or conferences. Please check with reception on 01462 476000.
During these busy periods you are advised to consider public transport or park offsite. The nearest car parks are detailed below:
• Town Hall - Broadway Mon-Sun £1.00 / 1 hour
• Garden City Square (Short Stay Levels 1-3) Mon-Sun 6:00-22:00 £0.50 / 1 hour
• Garden City Square (Long Stay Levels 4-9) Mon-Sun 6:00-22:00 £0.50 / 1 hour
Car sharing is encouraged.
The Spirella building has two lifts suitable for wheelchair access. You are advised not to use the lift in case of a fire evacuation.
On restricted parking days, only those Tenants that have a card reader proximity pass will be permitted to park on site
