Young people were given a helping hand in launching their construction careers through a pilot scheme run by our teams on behalf of The Prince’s Trust.
This is the first time in more than three years that The Prince’s Trust’s ‘Get Into’ programme has run a construction-themed course.
For two weeks young people were taught the tools of the trade, helping them to gain the skills they need to get a job as well as important practical training in health and safety.
They then had the chance to put their knowledge to the test, build confidence in their skills and meet people in the industry, with a further two weeks working across sites of McDermotts, our supply chain partner.
At the end of the course, they were awarded a CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card, which is invaluable for anyone looking for work in construction.
Our sister company Fortem worked closely with our team in Birmingham, and one attendee has applied for an Apprenticeship with them.
