STEMfest – National Marine Aquarium

'Squids-in' at the National Marine Aquarium!

Would you know how to build a container that could hold a giant squid?

That was the challenge presented to the 1,200 primary and secondary school pupils who attended STEMfest, the National Marine Aquarium’s annual flagship event.

The aim of the 2 week programme was to show pupils how their studies in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) subjects related to the sea. Ten members of the Wales and The West team volunteered to attend the event to give pupils a helping hand with their challenge.
