HIGHLIGHTS

- Logistically-challenging town centre location
- BREEAM Excellent-rated
This impressive new sports centre, a key part of Ebbw Vale's town centre regeneration, contains a 25-metre, six-lane swimming pool with viewing gallery, fun pool with slides, fitness suite, weights room, cafeteria and six court sports hall with seating.
Externally there is a full sized grass rugby pitch, plus 3G artificial pitch and four floodlit MUGAs for evening and winter use.
The two-storey building is constructed using a steel frame, with a Kalzip standing seam roof, curtain walling and a mix of terracotta, Kalzip and Alucobond rain screen cladding.
It has been built to a BREEAM Excellent standard.
The site was previously a steel works, so extensive remediation work was required before construction of the leisure centre could begin.
