Creating a space to stimulate the local economy and continue our proud legacy in Darlington

Our specialist commercial team is proud to deliver a new space designed to power local businesses at the heart of Darlington, and to continue our partnership with Darlington Borough Council.

The Feethams House will offer local businesses 3836m2 of Grade A open plan office space over five storeys. It represents a significant boost to new businesses and a vital employment opportunity into the heart of Darlington town centre.

Procured through the Scape Major Works framework, the project sits within a strategic business location, and is set within a new landscaped piazza providing high quality public realm within the town centre.

The design embodies the council’s own drive to reducing carbon emissions with a BREEAM target rating of Excellent.

The building was completed in May 2020, with the site team embedding the Construction Leadership Council's Site Operating Proceedures to ensure social distancing protocols were followed, allowing works to complete during Covid-19.

Councillor Heather Scott, leader of Darlington Borough Council, said:

“Feethams House is a marvellous example of the ambition we have in Darlington to keep moving our economy forward. It is a new opportunity for businesses in the town who are looking to grow or to welcome new businesses who are drawn here by what we have to offer.
Feethams House is in an excellent position, close to the town centre and our excellent rail and road links and offers office accommodation of the highest standard.
Thank you to all the building contractors who have worked so hard to get it finished in the extraordinary circumstances in which we find ourselves, it is a tremendous effort on their part.”

The project underlines the breadth of our teams’ experience and follows our Grade 2 and heritage experts restoration of Darlington's 100+ year-old theatre, the Hippodrome, returned back to its former glory; creating a bigger and better entertainment venue.
