Sunesis school is the 8th for Croydon
- Eighth school for Croydon
- Use of Sunesis Dewey standardised design
- School provides much needed additional space for pupils
Harris Primary Academy in Croydon is the eighth school we've built for the London Borough of Croydon.
Part of a Federation of Academies with an established track record in London, it is one of a community of Croydon schools run by the Harris Federation that works closely together.
The school, located off the Purley Way in Croydon, was procured using the Scape Group Major Works framework and is based on the Sunesis Dewey design, with bespoke kitchens and administration areas.
Sunesis, which won the award for product innovation at the Offsite Construction Awards, is the market leader in delivering pre-designed buildings across a range of market sectors. It provides certainty of programme, cost and quality from day one.
Completed in autumn 2017, the school welcomed 60 Reception children who joined 240 children. The children have a fantastic learning environment inside a bright, airy, modern building which has the latest interactive teaching and learning facilities. Our Sunesis designs help children learn and be motivated while being supported by enthusiastic teachers and staff.

A Sunesis Dewey built previously in Southampton
Before opening, a temporary school was created while the main school is being built and the academy will be for the whole community, benefiting not only the children that attend, but those people in the surrounding area.
