We are currently looking to recruit a Bid Writer to join our Strategic Accounts Services Team, based in London. This is a hybrid role with a mix of remote and office-based working.


The Bid Writer will support the Head of National and Strategic Proposals and the wider Proposals team in planning and delivering written content for bids and bid submissions that meets the highest standards across the public and private sectors.


The Bid Writer will be responsible for producing compelling and persuasive content for tender responses and supporting the development of bid strategies. This role requires excellent writing skills, creativity, and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. The role will involve collaboration with colleagues across various departments and adhering to robust quality assurance procedures.


The main duties and responsibilities of the Bid Writer will involve:


Pre-bid



  • Support the development of bid strategies, including storyboarding, identifying USPs, and win themes.


Bid



  • Develop a proposal structure and produce written bid responses and presentation collateral in line with deadlines.

  • Draft new and review and edit previously written content where necessary, working with other bid team members and wider Willmott Dixon group employees to gather evidence and craft compelling win themes/propositions.

  • Writing effective, concise and compelling content for bid presentations and all supporting documentation, ensuring a cohesive and consistent alignment to client needs.

  • Support other bid team members to give them confidence to write and produce materials themselves.

  • Submit and upload PQQs, tenders, and supporting information.


Post-bid



  • Communicate bid feedback to the core bid team.

  • Work with the Knowledge Services Team to ensure that new content is captured within the Knowledge Hub.

  • Provide lessons learnt and next practice feed-forward review of bid process and engagement.


General:



  • Produce detailed answer planning notes and provide bid administration support and maintain accurate records.

  • Ensure compliance with all bid requirements and internal standards.

Essential and Desirable Criteria

Essential



  • Significant and proven experience in a similar role

  • Schedule (Resource/Time) Management Platforms

  • Ability to write in various styles

  • A high attention to detail with excellent communication, English language literacy, editing and proofreading skills

  • Identify were graphics, tables, design can support written content

  • Absorb information quickly and be able to make considered and informed decisions

  • Ability to project manage and meet deadlines

  • Ability to multitask and prioritise workload, strong organisational and process skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop rapport with stakeholders

  • Ability to work as a team and to get accurate, high-quality information from all bid stakeholders to produce bid collateral


Desired



  • APMP Practitioner Certificates

  • InDesign Technical Understanding

  • Bachelor of Arts Degree

  • Journalism experience
