We are looking to recruit a Trainee Design Manager to join our team based in the West Midlands. As a Trainee Design Manager, you will be directly involved in the design and project management of construction projects. Your career is all about managing the design process in relation to producing a set of drawings that a building can be built from. You will do this by working with architects and design consultants to complete the customer's brief at the best value. 

We welcome applications from school and college leavers with A Levels, T levels or equivalent qualifications, Skilled Tradespeople and Graduates who are passionate about building a career in construction.

Our management trainee programme is 2 to 5 years in duration (depending upon your entry point) and will give you the chance to earn while you learn and give you valuable work experience alongside part-time study for a relevant qualification that is paid for by Willmott Dixon. Upon graduation from the programme you will progress into an Assistant Design Manager role and be positively encouraged to complete a professional qualification such as RIBA or CIOB.

Next Steps

Our management trainee roles start in September 2025 and the application closing date is the 5th of January 2025. Shortlisting will take place after the closing date and the assessment centre is set to take place in our Midlands office on 27th and 28th February 2025. As part of the application process, you will be asked to answer some of our questions via video recording.
