The Role
We are seeking a dynamic National Market Information Manager (Data & Insights) to join our national marketing department. This pivotal role involves leading efforts to gather, analyse, and interpret data to inform and shape our marketing strategies and decision-making. You will blend analytical skills, market research expertise, and strategic thinking to uncover actionable insights that drive business growth and support our marketing activation aligned with our growth mission.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and execution of market research initiatives to understand market trends, customer preferences, and competitive dynamics in the construction industry.
- Evaluate paid-for/subscription tools to ensure value for money and ROI.
- Analyse market performance metrics, customer segmentation, and competitor effectiveness to identify opportunities for adaptation, optimisation, and improvement.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the business' target market segments, including key decision-makers, influencers, and competitors, shaping and developing the business personas.
- Support the delivery of the national go-to-market strategy as verified by the growth mission team.
- Provide insights to support marketing campaigns that generate leads and drive engagement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, business development, product development, IT, data and insights and finance to integrate data-driven insights into marketing strategies.
- Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making within the marketing team and the wider business.
- Managing research partners and consolidating their reports into the wider proposals, including KPI management/performance management etc in line with SLA
Technical Expertise:
- Develop dashboards, reports, and presentations to communicate key findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Stay informed on emerging technology and market developments to keep the business at the forefront of the industry.
- Proficient in data analytics tools and platforms such as SQL, Tableau, or similar software.
- Experience with SharePoint and Office 365 platforms.
- Translate complex data sets into actionable recommendations.
Attributes:
Essential:
- Strategic thinker with a deep understanding of market dynamics, consumer behaviour, and the competitive landscape in the construction industry.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business Administration, Statistics, Economics, or relevant experience in a related field.
- Proven track record in providing and developing market insight strategies that drive business results.
- Proficient in data analysis tools and techniques, including Excel, SPSS, SAS, R, Python, SQL, and Tableau.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Desirable:
- Data/Insights qualification (MRS, CIM).
