Principal Marketing Manager

As the Principal Marketing Manager, reporting to the Preconstruction Director and playing a vital role within the New Business Senior Leadership Team, you will work in close collaboration with our business development and proposals team. Your responsibility extends beyond crafting, guiding, and executing our Marketing Strategy; you are also charged with spearheading market research initiatives. These efforts are aimed at pinpointing opportunities for expansion and securing a competitive edge in the market.


Your role involves creating and launching impactful campaigns, increasing our visibility at events, driving website traffic, and providing additional marketing materials to support the business development team. Through your work, you will showcase the company's extensive capabilities, highlight ongoing projects by delineating unique selling points, and enhance our standing among both current and prospective clients, as well as with wider industry partners.

Key Responsibilities


  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to create awareness of the company’s business activities and drive revenue growth.

  • Lead the marketing team in executing campaigns, events, digital marketing, and PR to generate leads and build brand equity.

  • Analyse market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities and challenges; adjust marketing strategy and plans accordingly.

  • Manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and measuring return on investment (ROI) on marketing campaigns.

  • Foster strong relationships with media and stakeholders through creative PR strategies.

  • Collaborate with the sales team to align marketing and sales strategies for maximum impact.

  • Oversee the development and management of digital content across all platforms, including website, social media, and email marketing, ensuring consistency with brand voice and messaging.

  • Report on marketing performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations to senior management for informed decision-making.

  • Stay updated with the latest marketing trends and technologies, incorporating innovative practices into marketing strategies.


 

Essential and Desirable Criteria


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications and related discipline, or equivalent experience in business-to-business marketing

  • Experience from a professional services environment, marketing agency or a related field would be highly regarded.

  • Experience of developing and launching campaigns, including ROI assessments

  • Proven budget management

  • Highly effective written and oral communication skills

  • Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) certification is advantageous but not required

  • Experience in events (planning and running)

  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office tools

  • Experience in briefing third party suppliers

  • Experience in the Adobe suite is highly beneficial but not necessary

  • Ideally, strong knowledge of the UK construction market, including trends, challenges, and opportunities.

This is a hybrid circa 60/40 split between office and home/remote working.
