Willmott Dixon fundraising nets £40k for Wokingham charity

Company backs charity providing essential therapy, activities and support for children with disabilities

Willmott Dixon’s Weybridge based team delivered an incredible fundraising success by raising £39,920 for Building for the Future, a Wokingham-based charity that provides essential therapy, activities and support for children with disabilities and their families.

The fundraising efforts were driven by a special 2026 Regional Challenge, called Race Across the LCO, a high-energy, one-day adventure inspired by Race Across the World with a unique twist of its own.

Teams from across Willmott Dixon’s South region raced between four checkpoints, tackling a series of challenges designed to test their endurance, creativity, problem-solving and teamwork. Building on the success of last year’s challenge, the 2026 event introduced a few surprise water-based elements to keep participants guessing. The result was a day packed with determination, friendly competition and plenty of memorable moments, all in support of a fantastic cause.

Richard Poulter, Managing Director for Willmott Dixon in the South:

"Raising close to £40,000 for Building for the Future is an incredible achievement and a testament to the power of teamwork, generosity and shared purpose. A huge thank you goes to our supply chain partners, every participant and everyone who supported us along the way. Together, we've made a real impact for a very worthy cause. Alongside our incredible supply chain partners, we have also been supporting the refurbishment and fit-out of the charity's new home. We can't wait to see it officially open in the coming months."

The challenge would not have been possible without the support of Willmott Dixon’s supply chain partners, who sponsored and backed each of the 12 teams taking part.

Jane Holmes, CEO of Building for the Future, said:

“Once again Willmott Dixon in the South have completely amazed us by raising a phenomenal sum for Building for the Future. We are so grateful for the efforts of everyone who took part in the challenge and those who worked hard with all the arrangements. It was lovely to see everyone afterwards and to be able to thank them in person for all they have done for us. With our new building almost complete, we are forever indebted to this incredible company for all their help. Not just with the huge sum raised from the challenge but from the enormous help and support they have given us with our refurbishment project. Thank you Willmott Dixon for all your support. We quite simply could not have achieved our success without you."

Although the challenge has finished, fundraising continues. The team's JustGiving page will remain open over the summer for anyone wishing to support Building for the Future and the life-changing work it delivers for children and families across the region.
