The Edie Sustainability Leaders’ awards turned a distinct shade of yellow with non-executive director Jonathon Porritt picking up a Lifetime Achievement accolade and our Group sustainability also named ‘Team of the Year’.

These awards see a host of household names vie to be seen as class leading in a number of sustainability related categories.

In the case of ‘Team of the Year’, we beat the likes of Canary Wharf, M&S, Iceland Foods and Multiplex to take the crown. This recognised a range of market leading initiatives, such as work on the Carbon Trust Standards, developing an ambitious new sustainable development strategy and leading on industry collaboration, with judges praising how we are “systematically integrating sustainability across the business” and how they are “particularly impressed with the way Willmott Dixon has embedded it in commercial conversations.”

Willmott Dixon’s name was also in lights when non-executive director Jonathon Porritt picked up Edie’s Lifetime Achievement award. He also used his acceptance speech to deliver a firm call to action, urging the private sector to re-carbonise the planet and declaring 2020 to be a ‘rare inflexion point in the history of humankind’, where new technologies and a new generation of climate campaigners, offered hope of real change.
