Our Interiors team delivered a £20m refit to one of Brighton's tallest buildings, the 20 storey Cockcroft facility for Brighton University that is now able to provide 21st century learning for today's undergraduates.
It has now scooped a prestigious award, winning the education category at the 2016 AJ Retrofit awards, with judges saying:
This is a bold project, particularly from a sustainability point of view – and a model for future similar projects. It focuses well on how people use the building. The exterior has been elegantly improved and the interior creatively revamped.
It comes as more universities invest in updating their estates and Willmott Dixon is a market leader thanks to its award-winning approach to working in live environments.
