96 high-quality, sustainable homes, helping to foster inclusive and diverse communities
Our team continue their work with Hounslow to transform opportunities for local people with this latest development of affordable homes.
Located on Brentford High Street, we have delivered 96 high-quality, sustainable homes, that will support Hounslow's aim to drive inclusive and diverse communities.
It also reflects Hounslow’s pledge to provide environmentally efficient housing, with energy-efficient features such as rooftop solar panels and smart home technologies.
It follows similar work on Frank Towell Court to create 102 new homes, and Bristol Court, a retirement living scheme providing 94 new homes.
The Tintern, Sonnet, and Hamlet development, procured using the Genesis framework, consists of three blocks ranging from six to eight stories, with the new council rented homes arranged in a mix of 1,2,3 & 4 bed apartments, including ten homes designed to be wheelchair accessible. It is part of Hounslow’s commitment to build 1,000 new Council homes to meet an increasing demand for social housing within the borough.
We also landscaped communal gardens and to support the council’s goal to become zero-carbon by 2030, the homes are 100% electric with an Air Source Heat Pump system providing residents with hot water and heating.
Cllr Tom Bruce, Deputy Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Assets, Regeneration and Development, said:
“I am pleased to welcome residents to Tintern, Hamlet and Sonnet houses. We are delivering on our bold pledge to provide high-quality, sustainable council homes for local people. This project aligns with the Brentford Town Centre Masterplan 2024, which outlines our vision for a vibrant, connected community that supports regeneration and growth. Working closely with the GLA, we’ve created homes that reflect the needs of our residents and I would like to say a huge thank you to them for supporting us in delivering on this vision.
“I’m proud to see this flagship development come to life, and I look forward to what’s next for Brentford.”
Tom Copley, Deputy Mayor of London for Housing and Residential Development, said:
I'm delighted that the Mayor of London has been able to back Hounslow to build these new high-quality council homes, let at social rent levels and funded through the Mayor's landmark Building Council Homes for Londoners programme. These are not just much-needed new homes, but a critical part of the wider regeneration of the area, as part of the Mayor's plans to help build a fairer and more prosperous London for everyone."
One resident is Nadia Ghose, a mum of five who recently moved into Tintern House. She said,
"We’re thrilled with our new home. The space is beautiful, and we feel part of an exciting, growing community. It is very convenient as I am close to the GP, my children’s school, local shops, and public transport. I also have good friends here, and there is lots to do for my children.”
