We believe that a digital approach is fundamental to both our business and industry, shaping the way we create the buildings of the future in an ever-changing world.

Through technology our people are driving efficiencies for our customers, helping us work in a more sustainable way, making our projects even safer and our delivery more agile and responsive.

Our approach is one of continuous improvement and innovation and is guided by three strategic principles – to work smarter; allowing our people, customers and supply chain to work anywhere in the most efficient way. To build a more intelligent business; one where data informs our decisions, assuring value and quality for our customers and investing in digital construction; optimising the process for fast, safe, sustainable and defect free projects.

Watch our film about our digital transformation:

“Digital technology and IT has undergone rapid change over the past few years, presenting new opportunities to help us shape the future of our industry. It’s really about technology enabling new behaviours that will drive efficiency and innovation allowing our people to achieve the best possible results for our customers and communities. It’s in our people’s DNA to drive improvement and our approach echoes what we have achieved in sustainability; embedding a digital-first approach in everything we do is helping us deliver better outcomes for all and continuing to position Willmott Dixon as an exciting and dynamic business of the future.”

Cyber Security

We take security extremely seriously, whether it’s data security, personnel security, infrastructure security or physical security. This extends across our own business, to our customers and our supply chain partners.

Our IT strategy is based on the recommendations of, and is compliant with, the guidance of the National Cyber Security Centre and our dedicated IT security team ensure we maintain Cyber Essentials Plus certification.

Digital Construction

At Willmott Dixon we employ an ISO 19650-certified digital ecosystem that truly spans the traditional organisational boundaries and in doing so enables seamless collaboration between our people, supply partners and of course, our customers.

Building Information Modelling (BIM), is an integral part of digitalising and evolving the construction process and one that has helped revolutionise information sharing in our industry. It allows everyone involved in the design and construction of a building to collaborate, communicate and share information seamlessly and efficiently using digital building models. BIM allows us to build a complete digital twin of a building and visualise it completely, giving huge benefits such as allowing a customer to have a virtual walk around and experience the design and layout, and allowing our people to foresee any potential issues before work starts on the construction.

BIM also allows our teams to build coherent COBie data models which support the full life cycle of a building, from before construction starts, right through to maintaining the completed building. It encourages transparency and collaboration between all parties involved, from our people to our customer and supply chain partners.
