Fleet News has awarded us the ‘Fleet Benefits Scheme of the Year’ award, for our approach to sustainable transport and agile working.
The judges commented: “Willmott Dixon’s salary sacrifice scheme is well thought through and a great example of a company demonstrating its ambitions to become zero carbon.” Judges praised our green bonus policy to incentivise uptake and the panel funding approach to get the best value deal for each employee, adding “however, its benefits go further than a salary sacrifice scheme; it has a flexible working policy and homeworking allowance which is being claimed by 75% of staff.”
In January 2021, we launched our innovative approach to sustainable travel and agile working, which supports our people to make the switch to electric vehicles. Our new car scheme combines the low Benefit-in-Kind rates associated with electric vehicles and our salary sacrifice approach means our people can save significantly on their tax and national insurance, opening up the affordability of brand new electric cars. Our Green Bonus supports the cost of installing a charge point at home - tax free.
Since launch, over 400 people who work for us have swapped their old petrol or diesel vehicles and switched to a new electric or hybrid vehicle. This supports our ambition to be a zero-carbon company by 2030. To further support the transition, we have committed to installing charge points at all our sites and offices. Combined with the uptake of agile working, this has helped to cut our overall company carbon emissions by almost half.
