Degree Apprenticeship - Trainee Estimator

Here at Willmott Dixon, we are currently recruiting for our degree apprenticeship roles on our Management Trainee scheme to start with us in September 2025. We have a vacancy for a Trainee Estimator to join our London and East team who are based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire and deliver construction projects across multiple sectors within north London, the northern home counties and East Anglia.

As a Trainee Estimator you will be directly involved in the pre-construction phase of our projects. Your career is all about working with Willmott Dixon colleagues to deliver the right net cost, on time, to the highest quality and accuracy. You’ll manage all commercial activities with a high degree of acumen and identify opportunities to add value throughout the project process

We welcome all applications, but for this role we have an emphasis on candidates with A-Level, BTEC, T-Level and HNC qualifications, along with a passion for a career in construction. Our programme will give you a great foundation; you will get exposure to all areas of our business to develop your understanding of the construction business as a whole, not just your chosen discipline. We will provide you with all the support you require to study for a relevant degree qualification whilst you are gaining valuable, hands on experience on our construction projects.

We have been nurturing our future talent in this way for over 40 years and a number of our past Management Trainees are now in senior managerial roles or sit on the main board. This is a structured, proven route to a management role in one of the most forward-thinking construction companies in the UK.

As a Management Trainee you will receive:

  • Competitive Salary

  • Incentive Scheme

  • Pension

  • Laptop

  • Training

  • Book Allowance

  • Day release to study (where applicable)

  • Pay for your college/university/vocational study fees (if applicable)

  • Study leave (where applicable)

  • Travel Expenses

  • The chance to be involved with flagship Projects

You will be joining a values-based business: our values are at the centre of every activity we undertake. With 170 years of rich history, Willmott Dixon’s purpose is beyond profit; delivering brilliant buildings, transforming lives, strengthening communities and enhancing the environment so our world is fit for future generations.
