Willmott Dixon has been honoured with the Gold Award in the Ministry of Defence’s Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) – the highest accolade available for organisations that demonstrate outstanding support for the armed forces community.
The award acknowledges the company’s long-standing commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant and highlights the exceptional work taking place across the business to support veterans, Reservists, service families and Cadet Force adult volunteers.
The award was presented by Air Vice-Marshal Jo Lincoln MBE to Willmott Dixon’s Clare Francis, Head of Recruitment, and Andrew Stevenson, Regional Safety Health and Environment Lead and Chair of the company’s Armed Forces Affinity Group.
Andrew has played a key role in mentoring service leavers as they transition into civilian careers, supporting the business’s partnership with BuildForce, a programme that connects former military personnel with opportunities across the construction industry.
As Willmott Dixon continues to expand its work within the defence sector, the recognition reinforces the company’s alignment with the Armed Forces Covenant and its position as a trusted partner.
CEO Graham Dundas said:
“The commitment our people have shown in supporting the armed forces is truly inspiring. This award reflects a collective effort and reinforces our dedication to the UK defence community. It’s also a living example of our values in action – building thriving communities and supporting those who serve.”
Earlier this autumn, Scott Corey, Chief of Strategic Accounts and Services, joined the Defence Infrastructure Organisation’s Cycling Through History challenge across the Fields of Flanders. His efforts, combined with support from The Peter Willmott Foundation, raised £6,550 for the Veterans’ Foundation charity.
Achieving the Gold Award celebrates the progress made so far, but it also reflects Willmott Dixon’s ongoing commitment to supporting those who serve.
The business is also a proud sponsor of the 2026 Forces in Business Awards, celebrating the achievements of veterans in civilian careers, raising awareness of the value they bring, and reinforcing its commitment to supporting the armed forces community.
