Having worked in Lincolnshire for more than a decade, completing several high-profile projects from the Lincoln Transport Hub and Lincoln South Park to Lea Fields Crematorium and the Public Sector Hub, Willmott Dixon is boosting its investment in the city and laying down roots with its first office in Lincoln.

Located at Greetwell Place on Lime Kiln Way, the new space will enable the company to establish a base for its existing team – with more than 15 of its people set to use the office regularly to better support Lincolnshire customers and projects.

Willmott Dixon is delivering several important projects across Lincolnshire to support the county’s growth plans, with current sites in Lincoln, Horncastle and Spalding. This follows five projects completed in 2022, which were the new Public Sector Hub in Horncastle, a project for Women’s Aid and three SEND schools in Willoughby, Eresby and St Bernards.

The Greetwell Place office will be headed up by Marie Jackson, preconstruction manager at Willmott Dixon, who joined the contractor in 2019 having previously worked at West Lindsey District Council. She said:

“Lincolnshire is a fantastic county with a tight-knit business community, so opening a dedicated office for the county demonstrates our focus and commitment to invest in the long term.”

Last year, Willmott Dixon was declared the UK’s ‘best big company to work for’ at the Best Companies awards, with chief executive Rick Willmott recognised as ‘best leader’ in a special Best Companies award. Marie continued,

“For our Lincolnshire-based team – such as myself – it will be great to have a base close to home, supporting a better work/life balance which is so important for our company. It will also give team members living further afield who work on our Lincolnshire projects greater flexibility and opportunity to work more locally, fostering greater collaboration and teamwork.”

Greetwell Place, which is run and operated by the City of Lincoln Council, is a managed workspace and has a range of different businesses occupying its offices.

The team are already settling into the new office space at Greetwell Place.

Nick Heath, director of delivery at Willmott Dixon, said:

“Having worked in Lincolnshire for so many years, it’s a natural step to strengthen our ties with the county by setting down roots here. Following a busy couple of years in the county, it will be great for the team to have a permanent base, reducing travel time and mileage, as well as giving them a great environment and location in which to work.

“We already have a deep understanding of the Lincolnshire built environment, but by opening an office and further investing in the city, we hope to strengthen relationships with our long-standing customers and become even more embedded in the local community. We’re also looking forward to supporting the region with our newly launched decarbonisation service to help reach the county’s aim to become carbon neutral by 2050.”
