Lorna Taverner
Head of Architecture and Technical Design
Lorna leads the Architecture and Technical Design team at Willmott Dixon. She is a qualified architect, LEED Accredited Professional and Passivhaus Certified Designer, with a strong interest in sustainable building design, design standardisation and Design for Manufacturer (DfMA).
Lorna brings extensive experience across all stages of project delivery - including feasibility studies, BIM modelling, stakeholder engagement, planning, and technical detailing. Her combined expertise in design and delivery enables her to seamlessly blend design concepts with the practicalities of project delivery.
Under her leadership, the Architecture and Technical Design team help our customers to access efficient and innovative design solutions, including:
Design Standardisation – standardised design details that help to build more efficiently, ensure compliance, reduce errors and provide customers with better value for money.
Design Platforms – pre-designed platforms developed with a ‘Building Physics first’ approach that align with the design requirements of specific sectors such as education, healthcare and defence. These platforms can be configured to meet our customers' needs and respond so project specific constraints in a streamlined, smooth process.
Passivhaus Services – our in-house team of experts includes architects, Passivhaus Certified Designers, building performance specialists and on-site delivery experts. As a leading contractor in Passivhaus certified projects, we have delivered some of the UK's most pioneering projects. As well as acting as the contractor, our experts can also take on the ‘Certified Designer’ role.
