RaisE Hub - Goole

In April 2022, our team in the north handed over a new £8m business centre and innovation hub for East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

It offers flexible office and workshop space for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) at the heart of Goole’s emerging rail village - described as a ‘forum to showcase the very best of British innovation to the rest of the world’.

The striking three-storey building at Goole 36 Enterprise Zone provides 3,200 sq m of office and workshop accommodation, split between SME space and the administrative element of Siemens Mobility’s huge manufacturing investment.

Located on Tom Pudding Way, it provides conference and meeting rooms as well as break-out areas, with a cafe to serve the wider business park to open in the coming months. The building is anticipated to create 90 new jobs, with businesses attracted by the wider development, where 700 people will be building new trains.

Upon opening Cllr Jonathan Owen, leader of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said:

“It really is fantastic to see the RaisE business centre in Goole become operational and this exciting project, alongside the rest of the ‘Rail Village’ is brilliant news for Goole and the surrounding areas. The relationship between the three key stakeholders has ensured we now have an example of how the public sector, industry and academia can work together to ensure Goole continues to be shown as a town on the rise.”

RaisE is the latest in Willmott Dixon’s portfolio to support innovation in the rail sector. In February the business handed over the £47m School of Engineering to the University of Birmingham. Completed in partnership with the UK Rail Research and Innovation Network (UKRRIN), the building unites existing academic and industry capabilities to innovate and support transformational change within the rail technology sector, globally.
