Senior HR Advisor

As a Senior HR Advisor in our People Support Centre (HR Shared Service), you will have the flexibility to work on hybrid basis - 3 days per week office based/2 days per week home based. Our people work from offices and construction sites across England and Wales, with our People Support Centre who work from offices in Weybridge, Letchworth, London and Oldham. We welcome applications from candidates in a commutable distance to Weybridge, Cardiff, Birmingham, Oldham, or Letchworth.

Reporting to the Principal People Manager, as a People Manager you will:



  • Lead and advise on all aspects of HR management that covers the employee. journey/lifecycle.

  • Manage complex ER.

  • Travel to our various offices and sites in the North, Midlands, South, Southwest and Wales as and when required to meet your customers and support in face-to-face formal meetings. Some overnight stays will be required.

  • Be responsible for line managing two administrators.

  • To do this you will need:

    • Appropriate knowledge of employment law.

    • Informed and confident ER skills (providing support and advice up to director level if required).

    • Be able to coach managers and provides risk-balanced advice.

    • Be able to mentor and develop other people professionals.




Due to the nature and diversity of this role you will be able to hit the ground running in areas which you’re strongest and get exposure to your areas for development with continued professional develop and support.

Essential and Desirable Criteria

Essential criteria



  • Proven generalist HR experience.

  • Someone who is passionate to develop their skills and experience.

  • Has sound knowledge of employment law/employee relations.

  • Able to travel nationally, on an ad hoc basis, to support our internal customers.

  • Level 5 CIPD qualified.


Desirable criteria



  • Experience of using ResourceLink and/or SharePoint.

  • Has a Human Resources Management Degree.

  • Has operated at the level of People Manager, HR Manager, Senior HR Advisor or similar.

  • Has worked in a Human Resources Shared Service setting.
