Willmott Dixon are currently looking to recruit a Senior Planner to our London & East construction business. With offices in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, and Chelmsford (Essex), we deliver projects across multiple sectors within north London, the northern home counties and East Anglia. This will be a hybrid role.
As a Senior Planner you will be providing robust planning support at pre-construction stages developing tender programmes for submission documents and possibly supporting (advisory) our site operations teams as required. As a Senior Planner you will be collaborating closely with our supply chain partners developing good quality logical programmes and associated work for projects on site.
You will be instrumental in planning resources for projects (often in live environments) in collaboration with the other members of the project and supply chain - as well as project resource requirements for future workloads.
You will have experience of identifying complex project issues early to reduce the impact on working programmes.
The Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preconstruction planning process, including project scheduling, resource planning, and identifying critical milestones
- Develop detailed project programmes and schedules using industry-leading planning software
- Identify and mitigate project risks, recommending contingency plans as needed
- Collaborate with the design and estimating teams to ensure buildability and optimized construction sequences
Essential and Desirable Criteria
Essential Criteria
Minimum relevant level 4 qualification or equivalent (HNC/NVQ4)
Ideally experience of accurate programming and sequencing of complex refurbishment projects
Ideally from a main contracting background
Understanding of latest construction technology
Experience of using Elecosoft Power Project
Experience of reading and accurately interpreting drawings, specification and other construction information
Experience of working with supply chain and having interaction with customers and communities
Desirable Criteria
Relevant degree or equivalent qualification
NEC forms of contract experience
Claims or dispute experience would be advantageous
Appropriate membership of relevant professional body
Identify your customers’ needs and expectations and strive to deliver them
