Willmott Dixon to deliver Cheadle College redevelopment
Nearly £90m of higher education work secured in two weeks
Action for Children is better off to the tune of £14,140
The donation comes following a Willmott Dixon pledge to donate £5 every time a member of staff completed its annual online staff satisfaction questionnaire called Your Say.
It follows previous initiatives across the company in the past 12 months to raise funds for the charity that supports the most vulnerable, disadvantaged and neglected children and young people for as ‘long as it takes’.
Importantly, it also fits with the goals of the Willmott Dixon Foundation, which through the work and activities of staff, aims to improve the life chances of 3,000 young people by 2015.
As part of this, Willmott Dixon donates £5 every time an employee completes the Your Say satisfaction survey carried out in August. The survey is part of its commitment to regular dialogue with staff and sees thousands of employees provide feedback on all areas of working for Willmott Dixon.
Group Chief Executive Rick Willmott:
"Being a large company means we have the scale to create a huge and lasting positive impact on our society. This is not only done through what we build and maintain; it’s achieved through the fantastic efforts of all our people who make a major contribution to enhancing their local communities.
“We are really impressed with the work of Action for Children and donating over £14k today is just one way we are able to channel our energy into supporting organisations that want to improve and enhance the life chances of those around us. We look forward to continuing our association as we work towards improving the life chances of 3,000 people by 2015.”
Chief HR officer Rick Lee adds, “Your Say is a key part of our commitment to regular dialogue to ensure we hear about staff experiences of working for Willmott Dixon. We want to be the best place to work in construction, for our people to think 'there is no better place to develop my career'. Your Say helps ensure we meet that ambition with quality feedback so we can provide the excellent training and career opportunities our staff demand, plus a unique, stimulating workplace and benefits package that no other company can match.”
