Willmott Dixon seeks 30 to join management trainee programme
Latest cohort will complement the company's existing 85 trainees earning while they learn
Company is highest placed contractor and follows a similar accolade earlier this year with The Times
Willmott Dixon has been included for the fifth time in the FT Diversity Leaders list, which identifies Europe’s top 850 employers for leadership in Diversity & Inclusion.
The list is compiled by Statista who survey the experiences of over 100,000 employees throughout Europe, which led to Willmott Dixon being ranked 114th in the list, making it the highest placed construction company to appear.
Willmott Dixon chief executive officer Graham Dundas:
“It’s an honour to see Willmott Dixon in the FT Diversity Leaders list for a fifth time and as the highest placed construction company.
The list recognises companies considered to be the most inclusive workplaces in Europe and our continued place in the list would not have been possible without the contribution of our people, with 70% of the scoring based on what they said in the online survey. The other 30% is based on secondary analysis of other diversity-focussed criteria companies are measured on.
It’s great to also see several other UK contractors and house builders also included, and I want to congratulate Taylor Wimpey, Mace, Barrett, Mace and Kier.
Having a diverse and inclusive workforce matters to the construction industry’s long-term future. To remain a growing, dynamic industry recruiting the best people, our workforce must reflect the diverse society we are today. It’s vital to addressing our skills shortage and ability to attract people from the widest talent pool possible, so they can power our industry’s exciting future while enjoying a fantastic career.
This is a key priority for Willmott Dixon, which includes an aim to achieve gender parity across all levels of the company by 2030. There is still more to do to reach this ambitious target, so appearing as an FT Diversity leader is a key indicator that we are heading in the right direction, and an important benchmark for our work to promote a diverse and inclusive environment that allows our people to thrive.”
Earlier this year, Willmott Dixon was also included in the Times Top 50 Employers for Gender Equality 2024 (below), which recognises the best companies for creating workplaces where everyone, regardless of gender, can thrive.
