Homes in West London for those in retirement and needing assisted care
Park Lodge House joins a long list of projects we responsible for in Hounslow, and is another example of our role creating homes specifically tailored for people aged over 55 to live in comfort.
For Octavia, Park Lodge followed our completion of Elizabeth House close to Wembley Stadium, which itself was a unique high-rise development providing residents with some of the best views in London.
This development of 36 purpose-built flats in Sutton Lane, Hounslow, was a joint venture between Octavia and Hounslow Council designed for those aged over 55 who require assistance with daily living tasks or those 50 years or older with a learning disability, a mental health issue or a physical or sensory disability.
Each flat has its own private kitchen, accessible bathroom and its own front door, but there are staff on the site 24 hours a day, seven days a week to help. The flats are all set in landscaped grounds and are covered by CCTV. The use of colour co-ordination on fixtures and fittings has been designed to support people with sensory impairment or dementia.
Councillor Kamaljit Kaur, Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care, Hounslow Council:
“I was really pleased to be able to officially launch this lovely complex of homes. Park Lodge is in a lovely setting and gives people who need it the extra care they need to go on living at home rather than in a residential care home. As a council, we want to support our residents to remain independent for as long as possible.”
For resident convenience, we relocated a bus stop on Sutton Lane, while external works included car parking, access roads, cycle spaces, hard and soft landscaping.
The scheme has been built to Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4 with ‘Green’ roofs and air-tightness of 2.0m3/hr/m2 @ 50Pa which was for the whole building (residences and communal areas).
