We safeguard the health, safety and wellbeing of our people, those who work with us and anyone affected by our works.

Protecting the environments we work in is always a top priority and we aim to leave things in a better state than when we found them.

With our accredited systems and procedures, we go beyond legal compliance aiming to deliver best-in-class safety, health and environmental (SHE) practice. Our core belief is that no one should suffer from ill health, (physical or mental) or an accident at work.

Considerate Constructors Scheme and CLOCS

We work with other industry leaders to raise standards and build public trust by registering our sites when required and ensuring they abide by the voluntary Code of Considerate Practice. Sites are monitored in three areas: respecting the community, caring for the environment and valuing the workforce.

In 2025, our average score across registered projects was 43.25/50. The overall national average for CCS sites is around 36.

Our commitment as a Champion of the Construction Logistics Community Safety (CLOCS) continued in 2025.

Risk management and compliance

We maintained an integrated risk management system for health, safety and environmental disciplines (Environmental Management System ISO14001:2015, Occupation Health and Safety management system ISO45001:2018).

Our Environmental Incident Frequency Rate was 0.03 incidents per million man-hours. This measure reports the number of incidents which had the potential to cause harm to the environment. We had no major incidents in 2025.

Assuring Information Security

Cyber security is a vital part of how we protect our business, customers and partners. In 2025, we continued to strengthen our approach through employee awareness, improved controls and enhanced security for mobile access to business systems. This work also supports the requirements of Government and Ministry of Defence projects. We are extending this focus across our supply chain, sharing guidance and working with industry and national security partners to help strengthen cyber resilience across the construction sector.

Willmott Dixon holds both ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus certifications, which underline our commitment to cyber security and underpin our information security strategy as well as conforming to the National Cyber Security Centre’s 10 Steps to Cyber Security. We are certified against the latest version of ISO 27001:2022 with added controls for cloud security. In addition, we also hold ISO 19650-5, which assures our approach to securely managing built asset data and information.

A safe and sustainable driving culture

Our people should have the knowledge and skills to stay safe on the road, and the vehicles they drive or operate should be legally compliant.

All our people undergo licence, health and roadworthiness checks before being allowed to drive for business. We also carry out an online risk assessment, evaluating each driver’s attitude, experience, knowledge, and history. And a series of eLearning modules provide information on key road safety topics such as fatigue, braking and breakdown procedures.

During 2025, 1,716 Driver related e-learning modules were completed.
