Somerset County Council decarbonisation scheme
Increasing the energy efficiency of Somerset County Hall and Somerset County Library.
Somerset County Council commissioned us to deliver a programme of decarbonisation works to deliver measurable carbon and energy savings.
Procured via the Procurement Hub framework. We delivered a series of initiatives that are saving an estimated 105,000kWh per annum.
At Somerset County Library, we installed new LED lighting and used the existing distribution system to upgrade the air handling units. By adopting an approach to minimise disruption and distraction, the buildings remained fully operational during works.
At Somerset County Hall, we delivered an estate-wide programme of initiatives. These included replacement windows; enhanced roof insulation; new cladding; installation of an Air Source Heat Pump; and installation of photovoltaics.
We are addressing programmes like our works at Somerset County Council through our Decarbonise Today service, which provides an end-to-end service to reduce the carbon footprint of estates in both the public and private sector. Find out more here.
