Our commitment as a Champion of the Construction Logistics Community Safety (CLOCS) was sustained in 2020, with increased monitoring assurance of vehicles in line with the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) Silver Standard.
Carbon Trust Standard
We are a pioneer of The Carbon Trust’s Supply Chain Standard – the world’s only accreditation for companies managing emissions from their supply chain. In 2021, we became one of three companies globally and the first in our sector to achieve Level 3. The accreditation builds on six year's worth of work, supporting our selected Category-A supply chain partners to reduce their emissions.
We remain the only construction contractor to hold The Carbon Trust Standard. Companies which achieve the Standard must achieve an overall score of at least 60% and a repeat of the assessment takes place every two years. We were recertified in 2019 and gained a score of 89%, which was described as best-in-sector.
Project sustainability
We drive sustainability on our projects via our 10 Point Plan. The plan sets project-level goals and targets aligned to our headline ambitions, which are considered to be among the most challenging in the industry.
2020 is the last year that the 10 Point Plan will be used on our projects; in 2021 it will be replaced by commitments in line with Now or Never. Performance dipped slightly in 2020 due to the challenges and demands on site teams due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but remained high at an average of 7.6.
