Senior Quantity Surveyor

We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Project Surveyor to join our Construction South team to work on a large project based in Southampton. The successful applicant will be responsible for the delivery of the project to meet its financial targets so you will need to demonstrate good working knowledge of contract conditions, demonstrate the management of project risks, ability to foster productive relationships and can thrive in a fast paced environment.


The right attitude, positive strategic approach and being adaptable are highly sought after attributes for this role. You will be joining a friendly and supportive team. The project is based in Southampton but we do support hybrid working with an average week being 4 days on site and 1 day at home.

Essential and Desirable Criteria

Essential Criteria



  • A high level of organisation and achieving deadlines and delivering profitable projects.

  • Quantity surveying technical knowledge and understanding.

  • Understanding of JCT and NEC forms of contract

  • Being able to manage and report on more than one project at a time.

  • Providing feedback for new and effective systems and controls for the business.

  • Positively reacting to change and assisting in its implementation in the business.

  • A track record of successful procurement.

  • Extensive knowledge of relevant computer software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project.

  • Appropriate CSCS card.

  • Management of a team


Desirable Criteria



  • Construction related degree.

  • Membership or working towards MCIOB or RICS.
