Water

We set water targets for each construction project via our 10 Point Plan. In 2018 our water data was assured by Bureau Veritas for the first time, setting a baseline for further reductions in future years. In 2019 our performance deteriorated slightly. Our new Sustainable Development Strategy will increase focus on water reduction. Going forward, every new site will develop a water management strategy including the development of metrics and targets for projects.

During the construction of the University of Warwick’s Sports hub, we tested the swimming pool by filling it with 1.3 million litres of rainwater from the underground attenuation tank, avoiding the use of potable water, as well as driving down costs.
