We work hard to reduce the environmental impact of our operations, and we collaborate with our customers and supply chain partners to make the buildings we construct as sustainable as we can.

This section looks at our key environmental impacts, and how we sought to reduce them in 2018.

Our ambitions

To reduce our carbon footprint, maintain carbon neutrality and work towards de-coupling carbon emissions from business growth

Our 2018 achievements

Reduced our carbon emissions relative to turnover by 3% between 2017 and 2018, and by 59% since 2010
By year end, all offices (where we are responsible for energy procurement) and all new sites powered with 100% natural renewable electricity
Carbon neutral for the 6^th year running
Increased the amount paid out in green bonuses to our people choosing low emissions cars by 50%, to nearly £35k
Increased choice of electric and hybrid vehicle models on our company car list
Achieved Level 2 of The Carbon Trust’s Supply Chain Standard
One of the only contractors to hold The Carbon Trust Standard
Reduced construction waste relative to project turnover by 3% between 2017 and 2018, and by 57% since 2012
Diverted over 96% of non-hazardous construction waste from landfill
